Pace Calculator
Calculate your running or cycling pace.

Enter the values and review the result.
Calculation assumptions
- *Pace is calculated as total time divided by distance.
- *Real pace can change with terrain, weather, elevation, pauses, crowding, and fatigue.
- *Results are estimates, not medical or coaching advice.
Enter your values and press Calculate.
Results and breakdowns will appear here after a valid calculation.
How Pace is Calculated
Pace shows how long it takes to cover one kilometer or one mile. The basic relationship is pace = total time / distance. Speed is the same effort viewed the other way around: distance / time.
Example: if you run 5 km in 25:00, your pace is 5:00 per km. If you run 5 miles in 40:00, your pace is 8:00 per mile.
Safety notes and common mistakes
Pace is useful for planning workouts and races, but it is not a guarantee of performance. Heat, hills, wind, surface, stops, sleep, hydration, and training history can all change real pace.
- Do not enter zero distance or zero time.
- Match the unit to your route: kilometers and miles produce different pace labels.
- Do not compare treadmill, trail, and road paces as if conditions are identical.
- Use professional guidance before intense exercise if you have chest pain, dizziness, heart conditions, medication concerns, pregnancy, or medical concerns.

Accuracy and limitations
Calzivo tools are built for practical estimates, conversions, and checks. Some tools use standard formulas or simplified assumptions, and results can be affected by input accuracy, rounding, units, local rules, or changing official requirements.
Results depend on the values you enter and any simplified assumptions used by the tool. Verify important results before making decisions or submitting official information.
How to Use This Tool
Use these steps to enter the right inputs and interpret the result correctly.
Enter the distance you plan to run or cycle.
Select the unit (km or miles).
Enter your target finish time in HH:MM:SS format.
The tool will calculate the required pace per unit.

Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about Pace Calculator and how to read the result.
What is a good running pace?
A good pace depends on your fitness level, distance, course, and goal. Use the result as a planning number, not a fixed standard.
How do I calculate pace?
Divide total time by distance. For example, 25 minutes over 5 km equals 5 minutes per km.
Is pace the same as speed?
No. Pace is time per unit of distance, while speed is distance per unit of time.
Why does my race pace differ from training pace?
Course profile, weather, fatigue, terrain, crowding, stops, and pacing strategy can all change the result.
Can I use this for cycling?
Yes, the math works for cycling too, but wind, elevation, equipment, drafting, and stops can affect real pace.
Is this medical or coaching advice?
No. It is a pace estimate for planning. Use professional guidance for medical concerns or training decisions that carry risk.
