Date & Time Calculators

Age Calculator

Calculate calendar age between two entered dates with leap-day handling and total days.

Enter the values and review the result.

Calendar inputs

Compare two entered dates

Use the calendar controls. Values are validated as strict Gregorian dates in YYYY-MM-DD form.

Required. Supported years: 1900–9999.

Required. It must be the same as or later than the birth date.

Leap-day policy: February 29 uses February 28 as its anniversary in non-leap years.

Calendar age will appear here

Enter both dates and calculate. No device date is inserted automatically.

What calendar age means

Calendar age describes elapsed time as whole Gregorian years, months, and days between two explicit dates. Requiring both dates keeps the result independent of the current clock and timezone.

How decomposition works

The calculation adds the greatest number of clamped whole years without passing the comparison date, then whole months, then counts the remaining days. For example, January 31 to March 1 becomes one month and one day because February is clamped to its final valid day.

Total days and common mistakes

Total elapsed days excludes the comparison date itself. Calendar components and total days answer different questions, so multiplying years by 365 will not reproduce every result. Check the comparison-date direction and the displayed February 29 policy before using the value for a formal cutoff.

Accuracy and limitations

Calzivo tools are built for practical estimates, conversions, and checks. Some tools use standard formulas or simplified assumptions, and results can be affected by input accuracy, rounding, units, local rules, or changing official requirements.

Results depend on the values you enter and any simplified assumptions used by the tool. Verify important results before making decisions or submitting official information.

How to Use This Tool

Use these steps to enter the right inputs and interpret the result correctly.

1

Enter a birth date and a comparison date in the calendar fields.

2

Select Calculate calendar age to run deterministic Gregorian arithmetic.

3

Review calendar years, months, days, and the end-exclusive total day count.

4

Copy the result or use Reset Age Calculator to clear every entered value.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about Age Calculator and how to read the result.

Why are both dates required?

Requiring both dates avoids a hidden dependency on the device clock and makes the same inputs produce the same result in every timezone.

How is a February 29 birthday handled?

This calculator treats February 28 as the anniversary in a non-leap year and states that policy beside the form and result.

Why can calendar age and total days look different?

Calendar age follows varying month and year lengths. Total days is the exact end-exclusive count from the birth date to the comparison date.

Can I use this as a legal age determination?

The result follows the displayed calendar policy. Legal or institutional rules can use different birthday or cutoff conventions, so check the applicable rule.
