Date & Time Calculators

Time Calculator

Add or subtract hours, minutes, and seconds as abstract durations beyond 24 hours.

Enter the values and review the result.

Duration A
Operation
Duration B

Whole numbers only. Hours: 0-1000000. Minutes and seconds: 0-59. Fractions, signs, exponent notation, commas, underscores, and partial text are rejected.

Enter either duration to add or subtract exact whole seconds.

Exact duration arithmetic

Each operand becomes hours × 3,600 + minutes × 60 + seconds. The integer totals are added or subtracted once, then decomposed into days, remaining hours, minutes, and seconds.

Scope and limits

This is duration arithmetic only. It does not add clock times, calculate dates, apply time zones or DST, or provide payroll, wage, overtime, legal, or timesheet compliance.

Quick answers

What this calculator answers

  • Model: Adds or subtracts abstract durations, not clock-of-day or calendar values.
  • Fields: Both operands use hours, minutes, and seconds with the same validation.
  • Range: Each hours field accepts whole values through 1,000,000; results do not wrap at 24 hours.
  • Subtraction: A negative result is rejected rather than clamped to zero.

Accuracy and limitations

Calzivo tools are built for practical estimates, conversions, and checks. Some tools use standard formulas or simplified assumptions, and results can be affected by input accuracy, rounding, units, local rules, or changing official requirements.

Results depend on the values you enter and any simplified assumptions used by the tool. Verify important results before making decisions or submitting official information.

How to Use This Tool

Use these steps to enter the right inputs and interpret the result correctly.

1

Enter duration A and duration B using symmetrical hours, minutes, and seconds fields.

2

Choose addition or subtraction. Blank individual fields count as zero.

3

Read or copy the exact decomposed duration; decimal totals are rounded only for display.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about Time Calculator and how to read the result.

Are these clock times?

No. Both operands are abstract durations. The calculator does not interpret a time of day, calendar date, time zone, or daylight-saving transition.

Can a result exceed 24 hours?

Yes. Results are decomposed into days, remaining hours, minutes, and seconds without wrapping at 24 hours.

Can I enter 90 minutes?

No. Minutes and seconds each use fields from 0 to 59. Enter 90 minutes as 1 hour 30 minutes.

What happens when subtraction would be negative?

The calculation is rejected and the previous result is cleared. Signed negative durations are outside this tool.

How are blank fields handled?

A blank individual field counts as zero when another field has input. If all six fields are blank, no result card is shown.

Are the totals exact?

The decomposed result and total seconds are exact whole integers within the one-million-hour-per-operand boundary. Decimal hour and minute totals are rounded for display.
