Dimensions accept strict nonnegative decimals. Counts accept whole numbers only.
Optional; blank and 0 both mean no waste.
Optional; blank hides cost, while 0 displays USD 0.00.
Square footage formulas
Rectangle area equals length × width × quantity. Wall area equals wall length × wall height × wall count. Door and window areas are subtracted before waste is applied.
Final square yards and square metres are converted from the same final adjusted square-foot value using SI-defined factors.
Worked example
For a 12 ft by 10 ft surface with quantity 1 and no opening deductions, gross area = 12 × 10 × 1 = 120 sq ft.
If the user enters 10% waste, applied after deductions, waste area = 120 × 10 / 100 = 12 sq ft. Final area = 120 + 12 = 132 sq ft. The 10% value is an example, not a recommendation.
Area scope and limitations
Results depend on the dimensions, counts, waste percentage, and optional USD price you enter. This tool does not model depth, material density, compaction, packaging, delivery, labor, tax, or structural adequacy.

How do I calculate square footage?

How are wall openings handled?

Does this calculate cubic material quantities?
